Ebonyi state is one of the 17 states in Nigeria implementing the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) Program. BESDA is a World Bank supported program which focuses on three Result Areas of: Increasing equitable access for out-of-school children Improving literacy, and Strengthening Accountability for Results in basic education in Nigeria. The Program was launched by the State Government on 19th August, 2019 at Akanu Ibiam International Conference Centre, Abakaliki. The BESDA launch was well attended by the Political Class across the state including the Governor of Ebonyi state, His Excellency, Engr. Chief (Dr.) David Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE, members of the State Executive Council, members of the State House of Assembly, Chairmen and members of Boards, Commissions and Agencies, Local Government Chairmen, Development Centre Coordinators, Traditional Rulers among other education stakeholders.
